Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

Bringing great food, live music and community performances, the BBQ and Brew Fest returns this week! The event will take place from 6 to 9 PM this Friday, February 18th, and continue noon to 9PM on Saturday, February 19th on the Main Street plaza right here in Historic Downtown Yuma.

The event features the Best in the Desert Southwest cooking contest, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, with registered participants competing for the chance to move on to higher levels of competition. Attendees will be able to sample and then vote for their favorite chefs. The People’s Choice BBQ tasting samples will be noon to 3PM on Saturday while supplies last, on the 300 block of Main Street.
All ages are welcome to attend, with no admission fee. There will be live musical performances, with concerts by two of Yuma’s own, Tanner Gomes on Friday and Bobby McClendon Saturday. Show times for the concerts will be at 7:30PM each night. Community performances include line dancers, Dancers Workshop and the Gwynn Sisters. Additional attractions include outdoor yard games, stilt walkers, free face painting, balloon art and other festivities. A Kidz Zone with new attractions is $3 for unlimited play.

Sounds like a great time – hope you can fit it into your weekend plans!
