Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

As pretty much everyone here in Yuma knows, this first week of March brings one of the premier events on the calendar – the Midnight at the Oasis car show extravaganza. Most of the action over the course of the weekend takes place away from Downtown, but the event actually kicks off with the Rally on Main Street Thursday afternoon/evening. The rally is a fantastic way to begin MATO, with lots of lovingly restored classic cars parked along Main Street for all to see and enjoy. The event goes from 6PM to 8PM here in downtown, so if you have a chance come on down and join in the fun. And of course stop in the Cellar while you’re here and enjoy some great wine!

1,000 Stories 2019 Chardonnay Bourbon Barrel Aged (Mendocino County) $17.99

Flavors of pear, pineapple and peach emerge on the lush palate, framed with a baked-apple richness. Cloudline 2021 Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley) $19.99

The Cloudline offers scents of sweet Oregon blackberries and Rainier cherries, plus hints of cedar forest and a faint note of rose petal. The palate offers rich, vivid flavors of freshly picked wild berries and exotic Asian spices, yet the wine displays elegance and balance.

Bodegas Muriel 2016 Rioja Reserva (Rioja, Spain) $18.99

Josh Cellars 2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles) $21.99

Juggernaut 2021 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) $17.99

This Chardonnay is built via a mix of French and American oak, stainless steel tanks and sur-lie aging. Each technique gives the final blend character, from the hint of vanilla and buttercream from the oak, to crisp stone fruit flavors resulting from time in stainless steel, to the smooth mouthfeel from sur-lie aging.

Kuleto 2021 Native Son Red Blend (California) $17.99

Native Son blends opulent and juicy Merlot with dark, peppery Petite Sirah to entice the senses. Captivating aromas of black cherry and plum are complemented by herbal hints and toasted oak. The palate is silky smooth, with bright acidity. Accents of baking spice and vanilla bean lead on to a lengthy finish.

Samuel Smith Organic Dry Cider (Yorkshire, England) $6.99

Strraw-gold in the glass with excellent clarity, Samuel Smith’s Organic Cider has a light body with brilliant conditioning, a crisp and clean flavor reminiscent of fresh-picked apples, and a dry finish. The bouquet is all about fresh-cut apples, with a soft floral backdrop.
