Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

Exciting news!

The Old Town Wine Cellar is moving to a larger space very soon. We will still be in Historic Downtown Yuma on Main Street, just two doors north of our current location, but in a much large space at 255 S. Main Street. The space is amazing and a perfect setting for the Old Town Wine Cellar. The new location will include a patio out front on Main Street and…. large back garden with plenty of seating to enjoy those cool days and nice evenings.

The license transfer has been approved by the AZ Department of Liquor License & Control and is now going through the final approval process at the City of Yuma. We hope to open our new doors in early March, so stay tuned for updates as we move forward. In the meantime, we are still open and pouring at our current location, 265 S. Main Street, Suite E, so come on in to try our Featured Wines of the Week or enjoy a glass of wine or beer.

Hope to see you soon!

Sassoregale Sangiovese 2021 (Tuscany, Italy) $17.99/Bottle

Its color is bright ruby red. The nose is clean and precise, with hints of Morello cherries, wild berries, and moderate spiciness. On the palate it reveals a full-bodied, assertive flavor, which expresses both great intensity and elegance. ($10 by the glass)

Frog’s Leap 2021 Zinfandel (Napa Valley, California) $35.99/Bottle

Using their now well-established technique of cold-soaking the Petite Sirah portion of the co-ferment and then infusing it into the fermenting Zinfandel ten days later, Frog’s Leap locks in the freshness of the fruit and accentuates the elegance of the resulting wine. A dash of Carignane adds additional acidity and structure, preserved nicely by their practice of aging Zinfandel largely in small concrete tanks. The resulting wine is beautiful: deeply flavored, balanced, and fresh—a great summer drinker to be sure, especially with a quick chill. But don’t be afraid to put a few bottles away in the cellar; like all Frog’s Leap Zins, this wine has decades of life ahead of it.
($15 by the glass)

Austin Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles, California) $24.99/Bottle

True to Paso Robles’ signature style, this fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon has enticing aromas of dark fruit, fresh vanilla bean, and hints of coffee. On the palette, the dark brooding fruit flavors are balanced with savory notes of black pepper, baking spices along with a touch of tobacco to add warmth and dimension. Lovely notes of sweet oak, lively acidity & fine dusty tannins complete this wine making it the perfect Cabernet Sauvignon to enjoy daily.
