Our Story

Since opening in 2003, the Old Town Wine Cellar’s mission has remained consistent: to give Yuma residents access to wines and craft beers from around the world. Over time, it became a staple for wine lovers throughout Yuma and surrounding communities and a destination for oenophiles visiting or passing through the area.

A New Era

After two decades as owner and proprietor of Yuma’s Old Town Wine Cellar, Mike Shelhamer began to plan his ultimate retirement. Mike thought long and hard about the right person to take over a business he built with love and passion. He found the perfect person in Kim Maloney in 2023, marking a new chapter for one of the community’s familiar gathering places.

March 1, 2023, Kim Maloney, a native of Yuma, local businesswoman, and long-time patron of the Wine Cellar, stepped into the role as owner/proprietor, bringing continuity to a business with deep roots in Historic Downtown Yuma.

In 2025 Kim had the opportunity to expand the Wine Cellar and relocated to a larger building just two doors North on Main Street. While the new location at 255 S Main Street is larger it still retains the same warm inviting charm of the previous location. The new location also provides expanded space for old and new customers and includes two outdoor areas for customers to enjoy; a generous front patio and a lovely back garden area.

Today, Old Town Wine Cellar continues to welcome visitors with the same community spirit, now with more room to gather, browse, and enjoy.
