04/06/2020 Newsletter
Greetings from the Wine Cellar:
As we all try to go forward with our lives in this extremely difficult time for our community and our country, I just want to reaffirm to all of my Newsletter readers that the Old Town Wine Cellar continues to be open for business with our regular hours of 11AM – 7PM Tuesday to Friday and 10AM – 6PM Saturday, and we plan to remain so until such time as forces beyond our control dictate otherwise. The Cellar continues to offer curbside pickup for customers who prefer not to come into the shop. Call or e-mail to let me know what you would like (373-0405; mike@yumawine.com) and I’ll be happy to bring the order out to your car. If a current listing of all products at the Cellar would be helpful in this regard, just let me know and I will e-mail it to you. In the meantime, be safe everyone and hang in there!
NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS:
Freeman Vineyards 2017 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) $39.99
This appellation blend is sourced from four separate vineyards. The wine exudes vivid, deep berry aromas, but as it aerates in the glass a cooler, spicier aspect emerges. On the palate, it’s perfectly balanced between fruit, acidity and ripe tannins, with rich dark cherry flavors lingering nicely through the finish.
Diving into Hampton Water 2017 Rosé (Languedoc, France) $18.99
Diving into Hampton Water is a clean and fresh rosé, with bursts of bright red fruit flavors like cherry, strawberry and melon, plus fine balancing acidity, a pleasant touch of mineral and a dry, highly refreshing finish. It’s one rosé you just may find yourself reaching for another glass of…
Theory 2015 California Zinfandel $15.99
Theory Zinfandel was made with premium grapes sourced from Lodi, Paso Robles and Mendocino County “old vine” vineyard sites. A vivid ruby in the glass, it offers a rich palate layered with subtle vanilla and oak spice, dark cherry and red raspberry fruit. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity are melded beautifully through the finish.
Bodegas Iranzo 2013 Vertvs (Utiel-Requena, Spain) $12.99
Bodegas Iranzo has been family-owned since the year 1335. Their Vertvs is an equal blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, bursting with blackberry and dark cherry fruit. A dash of dark chocolate and spice accents add a nice measure of depth and complexity.
Cheers!
