Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

Whether you’re currently “sheltering in place” and working from home, or showing up every day at the job, the Wine Cellar is here for you. The Cellar remains open for business, with our regular hours of 11AM – 7PM Tuesday to Friday and 10AM – 6PM Saturday.   And of course we’ll continue to offer curbside pickup for customers who prefer to not come into the shop. Just call in your order (373-0405) and then let me know when you arrive, and I will be happy to bring the order out to your car. And we continue to bring in a variety of interesting new wines – here are just a few. Hope to see you soon!

NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS:

John Duval 2015 Plexus Grenache-Shiraz-Mourvèdre (Barossa Valley, Australia)   $39.99 John Duval was the winemaker for many vintages of the famed Penfolds Grange Shiraz. His Plexus blend is a polished, silky Barossa Valley red, with spicy aromas of raspberry, plum and black currant. Superbly concentrated yet seamlessly balanced, this GSM offers a polished array of rich blackberry and plum fruit with a restrained use of oak, finishing with a lingering hint of licorice.

Black Stallion 2018 Estate Chardonnay (Napa Valley)   $16.99 This is classic California Chardonnay, with a floral and fruity nose of pineapple, peach, lemon meringue and golden apple complemented by hints of hazelnut and spice. It’s buttery and rich in texture, with a luscious fruity core enlivened by a nice dash of toasty vanilla.

Wilkes 2017 Pinot Noir (Santa Maria Valley)   $24.99 Aged 10 months in neutral French oak, this wine is evocative of an “Old World” style. From its bright acidity to its earthy core and smooth pillow-like texture, it shows a depth and complexity that stands out. Dusty cherry-cocoa tannins lead to earth and spices, as floral tones weave throughout this vividly expressive Pinot.

Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Brut Champagne (Reims, France)   $59.99 The Cuvée Brut is the epitome of the Piper-Heidsieck style: a classically well-structured and beautifully fruit-laden champagne. A majority blend of Pinot Noir provides fine structure, while Pinot Meunier expands the wine with a bright fruit expression and good depth, and Chardonnay contributes elegance and balanced acidity.

Cheers!
