Greetings from the Wine Cellar:
As we near the end of April this week, here’s hoping we’re approaching the time when we can begin to “re-open” our local economy and let society function normally. Fingers crossed!! But in the meantime, please rest assured that the Old Town Wine Cellar remains open for business, with our regular days and hours of 11AM to 7PM Tuesday – Friday and 10AM to 6PM Saturday. And we will continue to offer curbside pickup for any customers who would prefer not come in the shop; just let me know what you’d like (373-0405) and I will be happy to bring the order out to you. As always, new wines show up in the racks here at the Cellar with every passing week. Have a look at the latest, and keep thinking positive!
NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS:
Duckhorn 2018 Postmark Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) $29.99 The latest addition to Duckhorn’s portfolio, the Postmark Cabernet reflects the character of the winery’s iconic Napa Valley roots, with its inviting layers of cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins and long, rich finish that will definitely leave you wanting more.
Outlot 2018 Sauvignon Blanc (Sonoma County) $18.99 Outlot 2018 Sauvignon Blanc has a bold nose that’s reminiscent of Key lime, grapefruit and gooseberry. It’s lively in acidity and stony in texture – a combination that gives it fine breadth and depth. A riot of passionfruit, citrus, kiwi and pear flavors dance on the palate of this bright and refreshing white, ending with a crisp, super-clean finish.
San Felice 2016 Chianti Classico (Tuscany, Italy) $19.99 Expressive and smooth, this Classico hits all the right notes, with pure black cherry, black currant and violet flavors. Touches of earth, truffle and pipe tobacco add complexity. The tannins are nicely polished and the acidity is well integrated with the wine’s rich fruit.
Old Soul 2017 Petite Sirah (Lodi) $12.99 A robust, ultra-juicy Petite Sirah, this was made with grapes sourced from Lodi’s famed 50 to 100 year-old vines. It’s a lush and jammy red, with juicy blackberry, plum and mocha flavors, a soft mouthfeel and velvety tannins that carry it to a rich, lasting finish.
Cheers!
