This week Yuma Parks & Rec Dept. kicks off their 2013 Summer Movie Mania series on Saturday, June 15th with a free outdoor showing of the animated family film “Madascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” at West Wetlands Park just west of downtown.  The movie starts just after sunset at 8:45 PM – bring the family down, set up your lawn chairs, kick back and enjoy our mellow early summer evening weather!

St. Gregory 2011 Pinot Blanc (Mendocino County)    $14.99
This Pinot Blanc has a creamy texture, with concentrated aromas of cantaloupe, Meyer lemon and Clementines, along with a light mineral accent.  Flavors of pear and tangy citrus mingle on a lively, long finish, giving this wine a classic Burgundian mouthfeel.


Saracina 2009 Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley)    $29.99
Scents of Bing cherries, raspberries, wildflowers and a slight earthiness make a compelling, perfumed nose.  The palate offers elegance and balance, with supple tannins and fine length. This truly reflects its source, an appellation now recognized as among the world’s best for Pinot Noir.


Buena Vista 2010 Zinfandel (Sonoma County)    $15.99
This Sonoma Zin has an aromatic bouquet full of plum, blackberry and blueberry, with notes of red currants and black pepper. It’s a full-bodied wine with excellent structure that’s true to the varietal, nicely enhanced by a pleasant hint of toast on the palate.


Livio Felluga 2009 Vertigo (Friuli, Italy)    $22.99
This Friulian blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon offers an intensely fruity and spicy nose of cherry, currant, blackberry and blueberry, framed with sweet herbs and licorice.  The palate is richly vibrant and finely structured, with silky tannins.


Alexander Valley Vineyards 2008 Estate Syrah (Alexander Valley)    $17.99
Aromas of blueberry, boysenberry and a slight floral note of violets are followed by traditional flavors of blackberry jam, black currant and spice accents like cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.


Tres Sabores 2009 ¿Por qué no? (Napa Valley)    $24.99
¿Por que no? is the quintessential party, pizza, picnic, Bbq and bistro red, thanks to the spirited joy it brings to the palate.  Calistoga Zinfandel, Rutherford Cabernet and Petite Syrah and even some gorgeous Oakville Cabernet grapes make this unconventional blend utterly delicious. ¿Por qué no?! Gassier 2012 Sables d’Azur Rosé (Côtes de Provence, France)    $12.99
Refreshing rosés are part of the romance of daily life in the warm Mediterranean climate of Côtes de Provence.  This salmon-pink wine is a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsaut, with vibrant strawberry and citrus aromas and flavors.  Dry and crisp with a delightfully fresh finish, this makes asuperb summer sipper.
