Greetings from the Wine Cellar:
Have you tried a Paint and Sip event at Brush It Art Studio yet? If not, they have four events this week, all from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Cost for each event is $35.00 per person and includes a pre-traced 16″x20″ canvas and all materials needed to complete your masterpiece. The really cool thing about these evening events is you can bring your own adult beverages so be sure to stop by the Old Town Wine Cellar before you go to pick up a bottle of wine or beer.

Summer of 69 Verdelho 2022 (McClaren Vale, Australia) $26.99/Bottle

Two Left Feet 2021 (South Australia) $31.99/Bottle

Two Left Feet is what can happen when you dance after a glass or two of Mollydooker. This seamless blend of Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet created an enticing wine that exceeds all expectations. Ripe fruits of dark cherry, blackberry, plum and raspberry are complimented by the secondary notes of vanilla and mixed spices. Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz 2021 (McClaren Vale, Australia) $59.99/Bottle

Black-crimson in color, this wine leaps from the glass with powerful aromatics of blueberries, fresh plum, licorice and nuances of chocolate biscuit. The seamless texture is laced with fresh berry fruit, coffee, vanilla cream, and warm spice, giving us a full-bodied Shiraz with an endless depth of flavor and great length. ($20 by the glass)

Dana Estates Onda Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 (Napa Valley, California) $310.99/Bottle

The 2019 Onda Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of blackberries, baking spice, and plum tart. Intermingled with the fruit are notes of coffee and a hint of graphite. Rich fruit with dense flavors of black cherries, plums, and currants layer with graphite and a briny minerality. The velvety mid-palate transitions to flavors of black truffle, brioche, and blackberry on the finish. The predominantly hillside provenance of the grapes lends a broad mouth coating tannin backbone.

Montes Purple Angel Carmenère 2020 (Colchagua Valley, Chile) $129.99/Bottle

Deep purplish red in color. Elegant on the nose, with aromas of ripe red and black berries over a background of sweet spices, dark chocolate, and mocha notes. Well-structured on the palate, with smooth and full tannins. Acidity from the Petit Verdot lends juiciness and enables exceptional aging potential. The remarkable finish is elegant and intensely complex.
Highly recommended with red meats, lamb chops with rosemary, pork ribs, and cannelloni.

Beaulieu Vineyard 2019 Georges de Latour Private Reserve (Napa Valley, California) $155.99/Bottle

Wow! The aromas are exceptional, with a tangerine edge to the blackcurrants, graphite, lead pencil, flowers, and wet earth. It changes all the time. Full-bodied with great intensity and depth of fruit. The ultra-fine tannins display millions of layers. The texture on the palate is superb and lasts for minutes. This is the new 1974 George de Latour, which was a legend. ($32 per glass)

Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 (Alexander Valley, California) $104.99/Bottle

The 2019 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, iris, vanilla, and clove. Ruby in color, this elegant wine has great acidity and lift on the mid-palate. Black currant and warm baking spices linger with a deep and fruity finish. It will provide drinking pleasure through 2047 given proper cellaring. Blend: 95.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, 1.9% Merlot, 0.4% Petit Verdot. ($25 per glass)

JUSTIN 2019 Isosceles (Paso Robles, California) $89.99/Bottle

Isosceles presents with aromatic notes of ripe blackberry, juicy black plum, and cassis with dried violet, leather, vanilla bean, fresh herbs, camphor, and toasted oak. Full-bodied with baked black cherry pie, fresh mission fig, and black currant on the entry. The midpalate of new leather, fresh wild sage, porcini mushroom, dried black olive, and cedar is carried by balanced freshness and abundant velvety tannins that lead to a long, complex finish of sustained fresh berries, camphor, oak, toasted cinnamon stick, star anise, and dried flowers. ($22 per glass)

DAOU Reserve 2020 Seventeen Forty (Paso Robles, California) $78.99/Bottle

This is a Cabernet Franc driven wine with a harmonious complement of Merlot. Beguiling aromas of blackberry cobbler, raspberry, crème de cassis and cherry pipe tobacco anticipate hints of toasty oak, black licorice, and pencil shaving. Lush and full bodied, this wine bestows rich flavors of cherry, black plum, dark chocolate, and blueberry compote with lovely accents of Zante currant, graphite, and cinnamon. Solid structure and fine-grained tannins support a lengthy, focused finish, leaving notes of plum and boysenberry underscored by cocoa and black truffle.

NEW ARRIVALS

E. Guigal Châteauneuf-Du-Pape 2018 (Châteauneuf-Du-Pape, France) $64.99/Bottle

This Châteauneuf Du Pape is dark red in color with a nose of spices and mature red fruit. The palate shows round tannins with powerful complexity, notes of mature plums, hazelnuts and red fruit. A very rich wine full of harmony and balance. Blend: 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% Other Varieties. Very nice pairing with game birds, goes well with spices and in general with red meats and cheeses.

Chandon Garden Spritz (Mendoza, Argentina) $28.99/Bottle

Toasted brioche can be discerned beneath the herbal aromas of this quaff, a blend of Chandon sparkling wine and bitter liqueur made from Argentine-grown Valencia oranges. Tiny bubbles tickle the tongue while notes of blood orange and pomegranate flood the palate, generating just enough acidity to create a mouthwatering effect that’ll have you taking a second sip before setting down your glass. Garden Spritz pairs beautifully with spicy Asian food, sushi and sashimi, old cheddar, dried exotic fruits and nuts.

E. Guigal Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge (Rhone, France) $19.99/Bottle

Deep and dark red. Intensely aromatic on the nose, with black fruits and spices. The palate is full, round and sexy. Round and smooth tannins present through the full bodied, ample wine. Overall, a complete wine, with a long finish, with elegance and finesse accompanying the abundance of fruit and well-balanced tannins. Goes well with cold cuts, meats and cheeses.
