Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

The closure of all bars in the State of Arizona remains in force, so unfortunately no wine is being poured in the Wine Cellar these days.  But the Cellar remains fully OPEN for business as a fine wine & beer shop with our regular hours, 11AM – 7PM Tuesday through Friday and 10AM – 6PM Saturday.  And as always, great new wines appear in the racks on a regular basis; here are some of the latest.  So try to stop by when you can and check them out!

NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS:

Nickel & Nickel 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, John Sullenger Vineyard (Oakville, Napa Valley)   $114.99
The 2017 Sullenger Vineyard Cabernet opens with beautiful black cherry and plum aromas underscored by delicate notes of herb and earth.  Layers of soft, juicy black fruit flavors spread across the palate, while the firm yet silky tannins are balanced by bright natural acidity on the finish.  It possesses a lushness and depth that’s both immediately approachable yet structured to evolve beautifully over time.

Oberon 2017 Merlot (Napa Valley)    $19.99
This Napa Merlot offers aromas of exotic spice, ripe plums and toasty vanillin oak, followed by a supple palate packed with flavors of dark plums and black cherries and overtones of dark chocolate. A long, satisfying finish completes the package.

Heitz Cellars 2015 Ink Grade Zinfandel (Napa Valley)    $24.99
Heitz Cellars Ink Grade Vineyard Zinfandel is a classic expression of the varietal.  Flavors of dark cherry, tart plum, raspberry and cassis are enhanced with accents of toasty vanilla from aging in French oak. True to the Heitz style, it’s crafted with finesse and restraint, showing both refreshing acidity and a silky texture that makes it a perfect match with food.
