Greetings from the Wine Cellar:
I want to let everyone know about a temporary schedule change for the Old Town Wine Cellar this week: The Cellar will be CLOSED Tuesday, September 1st and Wednesday, September 2nd. But we will be back open as usual Thursday through Saturday. And the Labor Day Weekend holiday is almost upon us, so be sure to stop by the Cellar later this week to pick up some good wines and craft beers for your family holiday get-togethers this weekend. Happy Labor Day everyone!
NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS:
Peju 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) $54.99
A deep ruby color in the glass, Peju’s 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with floral notes of violet and rich cedar aromas on the nose. Concentrated flavors of dark cherry, black currant, raspberry and dusty cocoa lead to a brooding finish framed by firm tannins.
Ogier 2018 Artesis Côtes du Rhône Blanc (Rhône Valley, France) $15.99
This Rhone white is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne, Viognier and Bourboulenc grapes. A richly complex nose expresses floral notes and citrus. The palate has a lavish apricot and white pear character with a floral backdrop and a touch of white pepper.
Adam Sbragia 2016 Home Field Red (Dry Creek Valley) $21.99
Adam Sbragia’s Home Field Red is a blend of five varietals: Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Carignane from six different Dry Creek Valley vineyards. It’s a bright, lively and “zinny” wine with plenty of ripe, brambly raspberry and spice tones and soft, easy tannins.
Cheers!
