With the Holidays and nice weather finally upon us things are really starting to pick up in Downtown Yuma. Below are just a few of the events and Things to Do happening this week and coming up soon. Craggy Range Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (Martinborough, New Zealand) $23.99/Bottle
In appearance, it’s a pale yellow, straw color. On the nose there are ripe Sauvignon Blanc aromatics with notes of white stone fruit, passionfruit pulp and kaffir lime. The palate is lively with deep concentration and saline acidity. This wine pairs well with aperitifs, seafood and poultry.

J Vineyards Pinot Noir 2022 (California) $22.99/Bottle
This wine is deep, concentrated with aromas of Black plum confiture, cardamom, black tea, dried floral, and brulee orange slices. The flavors on the palate are Black cherry cream soda, sarsaparilla, orange marmalade, interlocked with pink peppercorn, dried herbs, blood orange zest and silky tannins.

Cline Cellars 2021 Ancient Vines Zinfandel (Conta Costa County, California) $17.99/Bottle
This Zinfandel underwent near total destemming and a very gentle crushing to ensure a large proportion of whole berries contribute to the explosive fruit character of the wine. Aromas of strawberry, elderberry and dried rose petals. Medium body, with flavors of raspberry, cherry, cedar, mocha and vanilla with a rich, smooth, plush finish. It is wonderful to pair with prosciutto and arugula pizza or a mouthwatering meat lasagna.

Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone 2020 (Tuscany, Italy) $31.99/Bottle
Aromatically the wine is dark berry driven, with notes of smooth dark chocolate and lingering perfume of almonds. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with flavors of iron, juicy black cherries, bramble, and classically Tuscan dusty tannins.

Pandemonium Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (Paso Robles, California) $39.99/Bottle
Pandemonium Cabernet Sauvignon is A rich, bold and full-bodied red with aromas of dark berries, grilled herbs, licorice, chalky tannins, and brown spice. The core of dark fruit serves as the foundation offering depth and intensity with plush tannins and generous amounts of ripe berries and sweet oak spices on the palate. Mocha-flavored finish.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Howell Mountain) is another fabulous wine in this range. Inky dark fruit, lavender, wildflowers, jasmine, spice, crème de cassis and pencil shavings are all beautifully delineated. This deep, potent Howell Mountain Cabernet delivers the goods. 96 – Vinious.

Ink Grade 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, California) $104.99/Bottle
The Ink Grade Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of fresh cassis, pomegranate, and cocoa with elements of thyme, mint, candied orange peels, nutmeg, cloves, and paprika. Aromatic notes of ripe blackberry, juicy black plum, and cassis with dried violet, leather, vanilla bean, fresh herbs, camphor, and toasted oak. Full-bodied with baked black cherry pie, fresh mission fig, and black currant on the entry. Ornellaia Le Serre Nuove 2021 (Tuscany, Italy) $88.99/Bottle
The product of a vintage that has proven to be high caliber and deeply satisfying, with tannin qualities and balanced concentration that shine through. This Super Tuscan displays a bright ruby red with the usual purple highlights in the glass. Refreshing on the nose with pink pepper and cypress berries aromas reminiscent of the Mediterranean shrub. Inspired by the classics of Saint-Émilion, DAOU Reserve Seventeen Forty is a Cabernet Franc-driven wine with a harmonious complement of Merlot. An opaque ruby-purple hue sets a tone of depth and concentration. Enchanting aromas of violets, blueberry, dried sage and bay leaf reveal underlying earthen notes of truffle, woodsmoke and charcuterie. The palate entry is juicy and powerful, flooding the mouth with layers of black currant, chocolate, cigar box and toasty oak. Patrimony Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 (Paso Robles, California) $559.99 per bottle/Cash Price
This is only available through special allocation and the Old Town Wine Cellar was able to acquire two bottles. With a deep color, almost black with hints of ruby, this opulent wine astonishes with its freshness. The layered aromas are the definition of elegance, combining delicate florals with notes of fresh black and blue berries and nuanced hints of dark chocolate, licorice, and ash. The bold and full-bodied texture retains the elegance and freshness of the aroma, augmenting the tasting experience. The finish is impressively long and precise, packed with notes of fresh berries, black cherry and tobacco. Vibrant tannins give this wine the finesse and backbone to age gracefully for decades to come.
Labouré-Roi Macon Villages 2023 (Burgundy, France) $22.99 per bottle/Cash Price
Pale gold with green highlights, brilliant and limpid with loral and fruity aromas and hints of lemon, mint and honeysuckle. Exotic and spicy aromas. A balanced palate, with herbaceous and floral overtones. This wine is light, charming and fresh. It seduces with its spontaneity and tenderness. Perfect with fried smelt tapas, poultry and white meats, snails, grilled tofu, bouchées à la reine, grilled cutlets, white pudding, andouillettes, red peppers in vinaigrette and cheeses (dried goat’s cheese, Bleu de Bresse).
Noble Vines Marquis Red Blend 2020 (California) $10.99 per bottle/Cash Price
Noble Vines Marquis Red Blend is a medium-bodied wine that is a blend of dark red varieties. The wine features aromas of dark cherry, baking spice and vanilla, and finishes off with flavors of blackberry, raspberry, mocha and vanilla. Merlot and Zinfandel lend fruit forward notes and soft tannins, while Cabernet Sauvignon provides dark cherry flavors and firm structure.
