Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

As 2022 draws to a close, I want to take the opportunity to thank all of my customers here at the Old Town Wine Cellar for another great year! 2022 marked year number twenty for the Wine Cellar here in Historic Downtown, and it has been a great experience from the very beginning all the way up to the present. Here’s to a great and successful 2023 for one and all. Happy New Year!

FEATURED WINES THIS WEEK

The Four Graces 2021 Pinot Gris (Willamette Valley) $19.99

This Pinot Gris received minimal stainless steel aging to preserve aromatics and freshness and create a lively, crisp wine. Bright aromas of citrus and wild strawberry are edged with a hint of minerality. Grapefruit, citrus and lime zest flavors are supported by a vibrant, lingering acidity.

Erath 2019 Resplendent Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley) $19.99

Resplendent exudes bright aromas of ripe black cherry, currant and plum, seasoned by notes of rose petals and lavender. Varietal flavors of pomegranate, cranberry and cherry coat the palate with a pleasing weight. Tannins and acidity are well balanced, for a smooth and lengthy finish.

Giguiere Estate 2019 Pillars of Hercules (Dunnigan Hills) $17.99

This blend of estate-grown Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot and Teroldego offers juicy, mouthwatering flavors of blackberry, blueberry and sweet oak that mingle with backnotes of earth and pepper-spice, with fine yet quite substantial tannins.

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2018 Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley) $18.99

This Washington State Cabernet is silky and generous, offering a plush mouthful of blackberry and sweet dark cherry fruit. The fruit is framed with firm but polished tannins, and nicely accented by hints of licorice, roast coffee and dark chocolate.

Penfolds 2020 Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz (South Australia) $32.99

This multi-region Shiraz was the very first “Bin Number” wine produced by Penfolds, way back in 1959. The fruit for this vintage was sourced from the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Padthaway and Langhorne Creek regions. Thick and velvety blackberry and plum flavors are ripe and rich, edged by hints of pepper and herbs.

NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS

Frank Family 2019 Zinfandel (Napa Valley) $39.99

This finely balanced and nicely concentrated Zinfandel boasts elegant, complex layers of crushed clove, fresh blackberry, and creamy mocha on the nose. A velvety texture of fine-grained tannins provides structural weight to the ripe fruit flavors of plum compote as well as violet, thyme, and black pepper elements.

Le Paradou 2020 Viognier (Provence, France) $15.99

Le Paradou Viognier comes from vines rooted in rocky hillsides of ancient, porous limestone soils originating from the Jurassic period. The result is a mineral-tinged Viognier with brisk acidity and no flab. It’s aged entirely in tank in order to retain peak freshness and purity.

Seven Falls Cellars 2020 Merlot (Wahluke Slope) $14.99

The Seven Falls Merlot is sourced from the rolling hills of Washington’s Wahluke Slope wine-growing region. The 2020 is complex and layered, filled with bright cherry, blackberry, black currant and dry herb character. It’s juicy and full bodied, with hints of cocoa and a silky mouthfeel.

Mother Road Brewing Tower Station Roadside Grove (Flagstaff) $4.99

Roadside Grove is Mother Road’s classic Tower Station IPA, casked with the addition of fresh Arizona blood orange juice. It takes the trademark citrusy, juicy character of Tower Road IPA to an entirely new level!

Cheers!
