Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

This Friday evening, February 25th, Fort Yuma Rotary’s Mardi Gras on Main Block Party returns! The party happens on the Main Street Plaza right here in Historic Downtown Yuma. It’s always a great party; it will go from 6 to 11PM with live music and lots of other activities, plus food and beverage options available. Dig your beads and feathers out of the closet and have some fun for a good cause – all proceeds from the event benefit the community.

Quatro Mani 2018 Falanghina del Sannio (Campania, Italy) $16.99

Quatro Mani Falanghina del Sannio is wonderfully fresh, as a dusting of minerals give way to citrus-infused pear and floral notes. In the mouth a soft, silky texture floods the senses with ripe yellow apples and hints of sweet spice. The finish resonates with bright orchard fruits, a saline-and-mineral character and a buzz of residual acids.

La Crema 2019 Pinot Noir (Monterey County) $16.99

A deep garnet color in the glass, this wine has aromas of flowers and strawberries. The flavor profile offers cherries, strawberries and spices, plus a pleasant hint of cedar. Smooth, well-balanced tannins carry this to a silky, long and fully satisfying finish.

Banshee 2018 Mordecai California Red $18.99

Banshee’s Mordecai is a blend of Cabernet, Zinfandel, Malbec, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Carignan and Grenache from sites in the Anderson Valley, Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino County. The result is dark fruits galore, nicely framed by oak.

Argiano 2019 Non Confunditur (Tuscany, Italy) $19.99

Argiano’s ‘NC’ is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Merlot. It melds the softness of Merlot with the earthiness of Sangiovese and the rich cassis flavors of Cabernet. The result is a complex yet satisfying red with bright aromas of currant and plum, and generous fruit flavors.

Opaque 2017 Darkness Red (Paso Robles) $29.99

This blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot and Grenache is sourced from estate vineyards in the Paso Robles appellation. After aging in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months, this hand-crafted artisan wine gives ripe flavors of raspberry and blackberry, with spicy vanilla notes. Enjoy the darkness!

NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS

Gran Selezione represents the premier level of Chianti. Made with 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and 5% Colorino, this starts with alluring aromas that evoke iris, red berries, sunbaked earth and leather. The well-structured palate offers dark cherry, cranberry jam, licorice and tobacco on a silky texture, with pleasing acidity.

Marchesi Antinori 2020 Bramito della Sala Chardonnay (Umbria, Italy) $21.99

Bramìto della Sala is straw yellow in color. The nose opens with notes of white flower blossoms followed with light citrusy sensations. It’s deliciously crisp and fresh, with an easy drinkability. A tangy mineral character enlivens the long, savory finish.

Dave Phinney Locations IT (Italy) $19.99

Locations IT by Dave Phinney is a blend of Negroamaro, Nero d’Avola and Barbera. The wine opens with an aromatic nose of black cherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, cedar and evergreen. A silky-smooth entry is met with a richly textured palate of fig and wild berries.

Heretic Brewing Chocolate-Hazelnut Porter (Fairfield, CA) $4.99

The Heretic’s ‘CHP’ is a rich, full-flavored, robust porter bursting with luscious Guittard cocoa
and hazelnut flavors. Notes of coffee and caramel round out this pleasing brew. It’s like dessert
in a glass, but fine balance and a semi-dry finish makes it very easy to drink by the pint…

Cheers!
