Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

This week we are taking you on a tour of France, well not literally, but with each of our featured wines for the week. Come on in to join us and enjoy the experience of exploring some of the many varietals that France has to offer. Bonne journée and hope to see you at the Wine Cellar this week.

Delas 2021 Côtes du Rhône Saint-Esprit Blanc (Rhone Valley, France) $15.99

Delas Saint-Esprit Blanc is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Viognier. The nose offers juicy peach and honeyed floral scents, and the palate is marked by a pleasing richness. Flavors of star fruit, melon and white peach are full and ripe, yet the wine finishes clean and dry.

Chateau d’Esclans 2021 Whispering Angel Rosé (Côtes de Provence, France) $22.99

Pale salmon pink in color, this classic Provence dry rosé offers tantalizing raspberry and savory herbal aromas edged by a racy quality that cuts a swathe though the silky texture. Crisply refreshing, it finishes with an intriguing hint of saline minerality.

Bieler Pére et Fils 2020 La Jassine Côtes du Rhône (Rhône Valley, France) $14.99

This is a fine blend of Grenache and Syrah resulting in a wine that is beautiful on the nose with brooding raspberry, black cherry, garrigue (rosemary, thyme), chocolate and tobacco which builds and concentrates on the palate. The mouthfeel is rich without being heavy and maintains freshness thanks to the hilltop fruit and norther latitude. Tannins are soft, round and inviting.
($10 per glass)

Paul Buisse 2019 Chinon (Loire River Valley, France) $17.99

This Loire Valley Cabernet Franc begins with an enticing aroma full of bright, ripe berry fruit along with hints of dry herbs. The palate is focused on juicy red fruit flavors, with light accents of herbs and a little spice as well. With soft tannins and balanced acidity this is very easy to drink. It ends long and dry.

Chateau Loudenne 2016 Médoc Cru Bourgeois (Bordeaux, France) $29.99

This is a classic Médoc Bordeaux from an exceptional vintage. The bouquet reveals scents of blackberries and black currants, plus savory hints of oak toast. The palate is balanced and refined, with silky tannins and flavors of ripe dark fruit and espresso.

NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS

Frank Family 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, California) $59.99

This is a quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with pronounced aromas of blackberry, cassis, and vanilla that welcome you into the glass. Flavors of black plums, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and a touch of espresso enhance the wine’s complex and full-bodied structure, with a core of elegant acidity from start to finish.

J. Lohr Bay Mist Riesling (Arroyo Seco, Monterey) $14.99

Exotic aromas of honeysuckle, ripe pear, Meyer lemon, and lychee. Flavors of ripe apple and pear, with just a touch of residual sweetness, classic minerality, and a light, refreshing spritz of natural carbonation on the finish. Fresh, cool, crisp – a perfect sipper by itself but its lower alcohol and bright acidity also make it a no-rules, incredibly food-friendly wine. Pair it with Asian-Fusion cuisine or anything with a lick of spicy heat.

Rutherford Hill 2019 Merlot (Napa Valley) $32.99

From one of Napa’s true specialists with the varietal, this is a complex and well-structured Merlot. Beautifully perfumed plum and black cherry fruit flavors are polished and rich, with fine intensity, depth and length. Smooth, supple tannins support a long and elegant finish.

Cheers!
