Greetings from the Wine Cellar:

This Sunday, June 19th is Father’s Day, so here’s my annual pitch that a fine bottle of wine makes a great (and easy) gift for your Dad. A fine Napa Cabernet, a premium Tuscan red, Vintage Port, Champagne – whatever you pick, it’s bound be something he’ll appreciate and enjoy. Alternatively, a Wine Cellar Gift Certificate is a nice gift choice – he can come by the Cellar whenever he likes and browse the racks to his heart’s content.

And, the 2022 Lutes’ Summer Jazz Series continues in Historic Downtown this week, with the Yuma Jazz Company Quartet performing Friday evening at Lutes’ Casino, 221 S. Main Street. For this performance the YJC will be accompanied by guest vocalist Eloisa Arviso. The show starts at 7PM and goes until 9PM, with free admission for all.

As always, downtown is the place to be this weekend, so stop by the Wine Cellar, enjoy a nice glass of wine or a cold craft brew, and then stroll down Main Street to enjoy some great live jazz. We hope to see you!

Old Soul 2019 Petite Sirah (Lodi) $12.99

A robust and ultra-juicy Petite Sirah, this was made with grapes sourced from Lodi’s signature 50 to 100 year-old vines. It’s a lush and jammy red with juicy blackberry, plum and mocha flavors, a soft mouthfeel and velvety tannins that carry it to a rich, lasting finish.

NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS

Beaulieu Vineyard 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Reserve (Napa Valley) $129.99

Hyland Estates 2021 Old Vine Riesling (Willamette Valley) $19.99

This Riesling is the 50^th vintage from the acclaimed Hyland Vineyard in Oregon’s McMinnville AVA. On the nose, fragrant aromas of citrus zest, mandarin, orange blossom and vanilla bean mingle.
