FEATURED WINES THIS WEEK

Tenuta Fratelli Povero 2019 Roero Arneis (Piedmont, Italy) $15.99

Arneis is an ancient grape varietal native to northern Italy’s Piedmont region. It makes a refreshingly dry, crisp and lightly floral white with bright flavors of pears, apricot and citrus. The finish is bracingly clean, framed with a tangy minerality.

Sea Glass 2020 Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County) $15.99

This is a delicate, perfumed Pinot, indicative of the sea-swept vines in Santa Barbara County. A palate of bright dark cherry and cranberry is balanced by a subtle oak character. Well-balanced, with a vibrant acidity, it’s an ideal partner for grilled salmon.

Cantina Zaccagnini 2019 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo (Abruzzo, Italy) $17.99

This native southern Italian red is an intense ruby red in hue, with a rich bouquet of blackberries and flowers. The flavors are lavish and rich; a mix of dark cherries and plums with elements of rhubarb, cocoa and coffee. The mouthfeel is velvet-soft, with mellow tannins.

Gérard Bertrand 2015 Art de Vivre (Rhone Valley, France) $20.99

A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, Art de Vivre opens with aromas of spices, dark fruit, fennel and a hint of black olives. In the mouth it’s smooth and easy to drink, with polished, supple tannins that support black cherry, plum and wild raspberry flavors.

Tolosa 2018 Estate Syrah (Edna Valley) $27.99

This Syrah begins on an enticing blackberry and red currant bouquet, with a note of vanilla. The palate offers vivid juicy plum, blackberry and wild berry fruit, with floral accents and a hint of espresso chiming in at the finish.

NEW WINE & BEER ARRIVALS

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Canoe Ridge Estate (Columbia Valley) $29.99

Exuding aromas of sweet cassis fruit, pipe tobacco and savory spice, the 2018 Canoe Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is deep, rich and velvety with excellent balance and structure, and a generous core of dark fruit that ends in a lingering, sumptuous finish.

Textbook 2021 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) $24.99

Floral scents of honeysuckle, plus aromas of citrus and stone fruits greet the nose. A lively palate of fig, apricot, pear, melon and apple fruit has a crème brulee richness and toasted oak spice, carried on a creamy and silky texture. The finish is perfectly balanced with bright acidity and complex layers that continue to intrigue.

Blandy’s Malmsey Madeira, Aged 10 Years (Madeira, Portugal) $34.99

This 10 Year Old Malmsey is a burnished amber in the glass, with the classic Madeira bouquet of raisins, toffee and roast nuts plus a touch of honeycomb. It’s lush and creamy on the palate, with rich flavors of honey, fig paste, almond and apricot. Fresh acidity balances a luscious, caramel-candy finish.

Cheers!
